Getting Started
Booking and first steps
Do you offer virtual sessions?
Yes. All services are offered virtually and are available to clients across Canada.
How do I book a session?
You can book a free 15-minute consultation directly through our Jane booking page. For other inquiries, call 780-699-4459.
What happens in the first session?
Your first session is about getting to know each other. Ayesha will ask about what brought you to therapy, your goals, and what kind of support feels right. There's no pressure to share more than you're comfortable with.
Do I need a referral to book?
No referral is needed. You can book directly through our online booking page or reach out via phone.
Can I join a group therapy program if I've never done therapy before?
Yes. Group therapy is open to both new and returning clients. A brief screening process ensures the group is a good fit.
How long are sessions?
Individual, couples, and family sessions are 50 minutes. EMDR sessions may run 50–90 minutes. The free consultation is 15 minutes.

Fees & Insurance
Pricing, sliding scale, and coverage
Do you offer sliding scale rates?
Yes. We offer five sliding scale spots for clients with financial need. Lower rates are available — please inquire during your consultation.
Are your services covered by insurance?
Many extended health benefit plans cover services provided by Registered Psychotherapists. Please check with your provider to confirm your coverage.
Is the 15-minute consultation really free?
Yes, completely free with no obligation. It's a conversation to see if Zameen feels like the right fit — no paperwork, no commitment.

Services & Approach
What we offer and how we work
Do you work with children and youth?
Yes. Individual therapy is available for children, youth, and adults.
Do you offer support for queer and trans clients?
Absolutely. Zameen Counselling is queer-affirming and trans-inclusive. Your identity is celebrated here — never merely tolerated.
What languages do you offer services in?
Services are available in English and Urdu. Choose whichever language feels most like home.
What therapeutic approaches do you use?
Ayesha draws from EMDR, CBT, DBT, narrative therapy, somatic practices, and mindfulness — always centering your lived experience, cultural context, and personal goals.
What's the difference between individual and couples therapy?
Individual therapy focuses on your personal healing — trauma, identity, grief, transitions. Couples therapy explores the relationship itself — communication, attachment, intimacy, and cultural dynamics between partners.
Do you work with non-Muslim or non-South Asian clients?
Yes. Zameen Counselling is open to people of all backgrounds. Our practice is rooted in supporting racialized, immigrant, and queer communities, and we welcome anyone who feels aligned with this approach.

Privacy & Logistics
How sessions work
Are virtual sessions secure?
Yes. All sessions happen through a PHIPPA-compliant platform via Jane App. Your privacy and confidentiality are protected at every step.
What do I need for a virtual session?
A private, quiet space; a stable internet connection; and a device with a camera and microphone. A link will be sent before each session — no downloads required.
What is your cancellation policy?
Please provide at least 24 hours notice if you need to cancel or reschedule. Late cancellations may be subject to a fee. Details are shared during intake.
